Thank you for your interest in working at Evelyn Hill Inc. restaurant or gift store at the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island, New York! We employ international students during our peak seasons which are spring and summer. Most students participate in the Work and Travel Program with J-1 visas.

What is a J-1 Visa?

It is a student visa, meant to promote goodwill and gain a cultural understanding of life in the U.S. We participate in the Work and Travel Program.

 J-1 visa applicants must:

• Be 18 – 30 years of age
• Be a full-time student at the time of application
• Have a maximum 4- month work period during spring and summer vacations

These programs hold interviews from approximately October to March, depending on the agency and country. Inquiries after this time are generally not accepted. The agencies listed above are the ones we normally work with for the Work and Travel Program. We do not accept online applications from students for this program. We cannot hire you independently. You must apply through one of the agencies listed above.

Returnees

If you have worked for Evelyn Hill Inc. before, please apply on our website. You still need to have a sponsoring agency (one listed above under the J-1 Visa information), but you do not need to attend a job fair/interview again. We can hire you directly.

• Where do I go for an Interview?
  Email Chris Valentin at cvalentin@ehillgroup.com or Dasha Komarova at dkomarova@ehillgroup.com for further details & to be put on a list for Security Screening passes required to enter Liberty Island. The Human Resources office is located on the lower level of the Crown Café.

• What Benefits are included?
  For full-time positions only: Medical, Dental, Vision & 401(K). 

• Do we get Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner?
  Lunch is the only meal provided.

• Does the company provide transportation from Battery Park and Jersey City?
  Yes, the complimentary ferry boat ride to either island is included.

• Will Evelyn Hill Inc. pay for my transportation?
  The ferry boat is the only transportation covered by Evelyn Hill Inc.

• How often will I get paid?
  Bi-Weekly.

• Can I ride my bike to work?
  There is a bridge connecting Ellis Island (only) with New Jersey mainland.

• Will I work 40 hours a week?
  Yes, there is a possibility to work 40 hours if you're hired for a full-time position.

• Are there appearance guidelines?
  Yes, we will go over that during orientation.

• Will the company provide uniforms?
  Yes.
