Arti and Nandu’s Indian wedding on Ellis Island was a spectacular event! We’re so happy to share with you some images of their gorgeous day, planned by Sonal Shah of Sonal Shah Consultants, www.SJSEvents.com. Special thanks to R. Wagner Photography (www.rwagnersphotography.com ) for sending us these gorgeous photos of their big day.
The Statue of Liberty is a guest of honor at every Liberty Island Wedding, and admires your big day from a close distance when you’re among our circle of Ellis Island wedding couples.
She’s a grand and breathtaking figure at Ellis Island weddings, and many of our wedding couples love to honor her in creative ways, such as choosing a Statue of Liberty-themed wedding invitation or displaying a Statue of Liberty figure on their wedding dessert bar or family photos table, welcoming your wedding guests to our landmark wedding venue.
Since a big wedding trend is incorporating fun and playful design elements with a callback to your childhood, we thought we’d inspire you with the Statue of Liberty Barbie Doll (Dolls of the World Landmark Collection)
Created as part of the 30th anniversary of Barbie’s Dolls of the World®, the Landmark Collection brings world-famous landmarks to life through Barbie® fashion. Since the Statue of Liberty is one of the most-visited landmarks in the world, Mattel honored her with a Barbie doll all her own! And we must say, her dress is quite lovely, as is her 4th of July printed clutch and her Statue of Liberty-inspired crown!
At 13.3 inches high, your Statue of Liberty Barbie dolls can take a place at the centers of each of your guest tables in our Registry Room, surrounded by flowers and candles or illuminated by special lighting, or you might surround her with sweets on your wedding’s lavish desserts table. As mentioned, she can join your family photos table, look over your guest book, or –another big wedding trend! – you might surprise your little girl wedding guests and flowergirls with Statue of Liberty Barbies awaiting them at their table, in gift bags personalized to them.
As glamorous and elegant as weddings are at Ellis Island, with pure luxury surrounding you in our grand historic venue transformed by your designs into a glam wedding wonderland, there’s always room for a touch of whimsy and for another fabulously-dressed wedding guest!

Here’s a look at a gorgeous tablescape designed for a corporate event by Fourth Wall Events, with fall colors in full glory and the top trend of rustic elegance working beautifully with linens, candlelight, and tall, majestic centerpieces that are so stunning with our venue space’s high-ceilings.
Fall shades of orange and yellow, with some crimson and gold make this tabletop design so beautiful, and the designer takes this look to the heights of event design trends with a patterned table runner. Patterns are so In for fall 2013 and will stay in right through 2014 for weddings and special events, so when you plan your Ellis Island special celebration, think patterns and luxury fabrics to make your table design even more spectacular!
When your beautiful wedding takes place on Liberty Island, you can arrange for a clearspan tent to be constructed according to your specifications. In any type of weather, you and your wedding guests will be completely comfortable, with a stunning and unobstructed view of the Statue of Liberty, majestic in daytime and dramatically-lit in the evening. It’s quite a view.
You’ll also get a breathtaking view of the sunset sky, glowing in spectacular pinks, purples and golds, adding an extra dimension to the lavish wedding décor you plan for inside your tent. You and your wedding planning team can even use those sunset colors to help create your wedding motif, such as a beautiful royal blue or purple design in your wedding guest table linens and additional magazine-worthy wedding décor. Your band can be lit in shades of purple and blue – two top-trend wedding colors right now. Your bar can be lit to match the sky above. Or, as you see here, perhaps you’ll use green among your wedding colors to coordinate with our trees in full view.

Green weddings are In as a top wedding trend, and while some wedding couples think they have to have their wedding in a field to go eco-friendly, Ellis Island and Liberty Island are award-winning eco-friendly locations for weddings, corporate events and special celebrations! We’re proud of our many green initiatives and eco-friendly event strategies, and having your wedding or party at our historic locations means that your wedding will be eco-friendly and take place in a Wow Factor venue with fabulous architecture, great views of the NYC skyline and pure luxury!
If you’re interested in having a green wedding, you don’t have to go to a farm or get married in a barn. You can be married right here on our spectacular grounds or in our historic buildings, and have your beautiful reception right here as well, knowing that your wedding venue excels at eco-friendly methods such as recycling, using energy-efficient equipment and technology, collecting rainwater, and more. According to a recent wedding industry survey by TheWeddingReport.com, recent wedding couples said that having an eco-friendly wedding location was more important than having eco-friendly catering, cakes, transportation, photography and even the wedding gown!
One in five engaged couples want to have an eco-friendly wedding, says Splendid Insights, a wedding-focused market research firm. And according to top wedding trends, the vast majority of wedding couples want some elements of a green wedding – from the flowers to the food to the location, wedding invitations and other parts of their Big Day. If you thought that green weddings cost a lot more than traditional weddings, it’s actually not that much more. TheWeddingReport.com says that eco-conscious wedding couples spend only 2% more on their green wedding than couples planning traditional weddings. That means you can arrange for more luxury wedding elements with your wedding budget and still have your dream green wedding!

In 2012, Evelyn Hill Inc. is replacing several products with similar items to eliminate several more tons of waste annually.
While constructing the Retail Pavilion, we added a 15,000 gallon storm water collection tank to collect the rainwater off the roof of the building.
